OVERVIEW: Don’t be surprised if Gwenog Jones strikes up a conversation with you at some random time on some random day. She’s not the sort of person who thinks that it would be the least bit awkward, and she probably wouldn’t regret it either. She’s a very outgoing, friendly person who loves to meet people and get to know them. Not worrying about the possibility of awkwardness or embarrassing herself, she is very confident, and doesn’t really worry about what people think of her. She’s definitely an individual, and prides herself on her unique personality, likes, dislikes, strengths, and weaknesses.
A huge part of her life is Quidditch, and she is one of the rare females who plays the position of beater, and also one of the rare beaters who is extremely precise with their aim and strength. For a girl, she is very athletic and strong, and prides herself on being able to keep up with the boys. However, her very forward personality has some downfalls. She can sometimes be too brash, which can make situations for other people extremely uncomfortable extremely quickly. When she thinks she knows something, its her way or the highway, and trying to convince her otherwise would be extremelyunwise.
Despite her not caring about what people think of her, she’s developed a reputation as a flirt, as someone who just likes to hook up with boys, and also with someone who sleeps around without worry. Unfortunately, it’s true. Gwenog isn’t looking for a relationship, and she doesn’t care that people look down on her relative skankiness. She just likes to mix things up, and stay positive. She’s happy, what’s the problem?

OVERVIEW: Leonard and Anna Jones wanted to have children almost immediately. They were irrevocably in love with one another, and married not two months out of high school. Unfortunately, conceiving proved very difficult for the couple. They tried for a few years without any assistance, and failed time after time, losing two fetuses. This took a great toll on Anna especially, who felt that it was her calling in life to be a mother. Finally, the pair invested their time and money into some experimental treatments at the hospital, and conceived. The pregnancy was extremely successful- not one, but two babies were growing in Anna’s womb, both girls, and identical twins.
Gwenog Igraine Jones was on the bright morning of April 28th. Ten minutes before her birth, her twin sister Hestia Siobhan was born. Both girls were beautiful additions to the Jones family and completely bewitched their parents. But pregnancy, labor, and childbirth had taken much out of Anna, who had always been fragile and frail, and she was never the same after giving birth. Consistently weakening in condition in the years after the twins’ birth, Anna passed away a week before Gwenog and Hestia’s second birthday. Their father was beside himself, but tried to remain strong for his little girls. He was never as passionate about the children as his wife was, as all of his love and devotion was directed towards her. Leonard would never recover from losing the love of his life, and even though he was never the father that he had the potential to be, he supported his girls as best he could, and they learned to fend for themselves and protect each other in the cruel world they were being raised into.
As Hestia and Gwenog grew up, the two girls were inseparable. They did everything together, from playing, to napping, to eating. They dressed the same and liked doing anything as long as they were doing it together. This made life pretty easy for their father, who knew that the pair would always be looking out for one another. Now sixteen, the two are still protective of one another, and do look out for each other.
However, times change. By the age of six or seven, the two girls started to differ. While Gwenog liked to rub her face in dirt and play cricket with the neighborhood boys, Hestia preferred to play dress-up and have tea parties with those boys’ sisters. They were still close, and shared a room (they would continue to share a room throughout their summers between Hogwarts), and loved each other like the sisters and best friends that they were, but they understood that they were becoming different people. Their father was happy to see some individuality between the pair, but didn’t notice many of the fine details separating them. As the girls aged, it became increasingly difficult for their father to understand them.
As the girls began to grow into their own personalities, very odd things started to happen. Different objects in the house would start floating during dinner time, Gwen’s hair started to change color when she got very upset or very excited, and Hestia was able to make flowers bloom simply by singing to them. These instances were unnoticed by their father for the most part, as nanny’s were usually home and watching them while he slaved away at work trying to make a living for three. The girls, without meaning to, scared away many a sitter with these ‘antics’. The pair didn’t understand, and were given much stress from these signs of ‘magic’, but all was explained on April 28th, the girls’ eleventh birthday. A knock on the door proved to be a very oddly dressed man in brilliant purple robes, who called himself Professor Dumbledore. He introduced himself as the Transfiguration professor at Hogwarts School, and invited himself in and to some of their tea. Many, many hours later, the girls’ questions were answered, their father pale white, and a new, exciting path was laid down for the girls.
Getting their books and robes and owls was much fun, but very worrisome for their father. He was very skeptical about all the business of ‘magic’, as it was completely absurd, but he also understood that there were things his girls, and this Dumbledore, could do that were unexplainable. Upon reaching Hogwarts, and learning every step of the way, the girls weren’t sure how they felt about the sorting ceremony. Though they would be excited to go to any house, they were worried that the sorting hat would place them together. Still best friends, and closer than with anyone else, they still wanted to have a Hogwarts experience all their own. Thankfully, their wishes were fulfilled. Hestia was sorted into Hufflepuff and Gwenog was sorted into Ravenclaw, finally proving to the world that they did have very distinct personalities. The girls saw each other often around the school and did have many classes together, but they enjoyed having their own dormitories and common rooms where they could be considered an individual and not one half of a set of twins (though Hestia was usually clever enough to answer the question presented to her, and she always told Gwen the password to the Hufflepuff dorm, just so they could see each other whenever they wished).
Gwenog was ecstatic that she could be at the school. Everything was exciting to her, from her living arrangements, to her classes, to the Quidditch Pitch. She made many friends quickly and easily, and soon was known as the cute, quirky first year who had a big smile and some good jokes. She was always a flirt, and made a big scene by successfully flirting with some fifth year boys. Her dorm mates couldn’t believe her, and thought she was absolutely hilarious, loving her outgoing attitude. She quickly became the alpha of her group of friends, and by her third year was extremely popular in Ravenclaw house. Her flirtatious attitude didn’t cease, and she started having handfuls of short term boyfriends, who usually just ended up being good friends with her. By her fourth year, she was the new star beater on the Quidditch team, but her flirtation started earning her a reputation. She lost her virginity to the captain of the Ravenclaw team in her fifth year, and dated him briefly, but ended the relationship, turning it into more of a friends with benefits type deal (she had some serious commitment issues, the mere thought of the term ‘boyfriend’ was foreign to her). Her close friends don’t think much of her down-to-hook up attitude, but many girls began judge her for it. She doesn’t care, and if asked about it just shrugs, or says that they’re probably jealous.
Gwenog is now in her sixth year, is a beater on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, and enjoys Transfiguration and participating in the dueling club. She is still extremely close with her sister Hestia, but consistently has problems with their father, who is still absent as ever in the life of his magical children. How will Gwenog’s year go? Will she continue sleeping around and hooking up, or will one boy finally catch her eye exclusively? If that happens, will she be able to deal with commitment? How will her year on the Quidditch team go? Will the Holyhead Harpies be back to scout again? Let’s see…
